Joyn Healthcare — Health Wallet Terms

Effective Date: February 14, 2026
Last Updated: February 14, 2026

1. Overview

These Health Wallet Terms ("Wallet Terms") govern your use of the Joyn Health Wallet ("Wallet") feature within the Joyn Healthcare platform (the "Platform"). These Wallet Terms supplement and are incorporated into the Joyn Healthcare Member Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict, these Wallet Terms control with respect to Wallet-related matters.

By adding funds to your Wallet or using your Wallet to make a payment, you agree to these Wallet Terms.

2. What the Wallet Is

The Joyn Health Wallet is a stored-value balance within the Platform that allows you to set aside funds for healthcare services and pay for those services when booked through Joyn. The Wallet is designed to help you budget for healthcare and simplify the payment process.

3. What the Wallet Is NOT

The Wallet is not a bank account. Joyn Healthcare is not a bank, credit union, or depository institution. Your Wallet balance does not constitute a deposit with any financial institution.

The Wallet is not FDIC-insured. Wallet funds are held by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc., not by a bank. FDIC insurance does not apply.

The Wallet is not a health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Wallet contributions are not tax-deductible by virtue of being in the Wallet. However, healthcare expenses paid through the Wallet may be tax-deductible or reimbursable through your own HSA or FSA, depending on your individual tax situation. Consult a tax professional for guidance.

The Wallet is not insurance or a health benefit. Having a Wallet balance does not provide healthcare coverage, guarantee access to care, or create any insurance relationship.

The Wallet does not earn interest for Members. Wallet funds do not accrue interest payable to you.

4. Adding Funds

4.1 Methods

You may add funds to your Wallet using a credit card, debit card, or ACH bank transfer linked to your Joyn account.

4.2 One-Time Deposits

You may add funds via a one-time deposit at any time. The minimum deposit amount is $10.00. There is no maximum single deposit or maximum balance.

4.3 Auto-Contribute

You may set up automatic recurring contributions ("Auto-Contribute") by selecting a frequency (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) and an amount. Auto-Contribute charges are processed on the scheduled date from your selected payment method.

You may pause, modify, or cancel Auto-Contribute at any time through your account settings. Changes take effect before the next scheduled contribution.

4.4 Failed Contributions

If a scheduled Auto-Contribute payment fails (e.g., insufficient funds, expired card), we will notify you and attempt to process the payment once more within 3 business days. If the second attempt fails, Auto-Contribute will be paused until you update your payment method.

5. Using Wallet Funds

5.1 Permitted Uses

Wallet funds may only be used to pay for healthcare services booked through the Joyn Platform. Wallet funds cannot be transferred to other Joyn members, used to pay for non-healthcare goods or services, or used outside of the Platform.

5.2 Payment Priority

When you confirm a booking, the Wallet is the default payment method:

  1. If your Wallet balance is sufficient, the full amount is deducted from your Wallet.
  2. If your Wallet balance is less than the booking amount, the Wallet balance is deducted first, and the remaining amount is charged to your card on file.
  3. If your Wallet balance is zero, the full amount is charged to your card on file.

You may override the default and choose to pay entirely by card on file for any booking.

5.3 Pre-Authorization

When paying with the Wallet, the booked amount is deducted from your available balance at the time of booking. If the final charge (after the Provider marks the visit complete) differs from the booked amount, the difference is either refunded to your Wallet or charged to your card on file (if approved by you).

6. Family Wallet

If you have a family membership, your household shares a single Wallet. All bookings for any household member draw from the shared Wallet balance. The primary account holder is the only person authorized to add funds, set up Auto-Contribute, or withdraw funds. All household members can view the Wallet balance and transaction history.

7. Withdrawals

7.1 Your Right to Withdraw

Your Wallet funds belong to you. You may withdraw your full available Wallet balance at any time, for any reason, with no penalties, fees, or restrictions.

7.2 How to Withdraw

Initiate a withdrawal through your Wallet dashboard by clicking "Withdraw." Withdrawals are processed via ACH bank transfer to the bank account linked to your Joyn account.

7.3 Processing Time

Withdrawals typically arrive within 3-5 business days after initiation. Processing times may vary depending on your bank.

7.4 Available Balance

Your "available balance" is your total Wallet balance minus any amounts held for pending bookings (pre-authorization holds). You cannot withdraw funds that are held for a confirmed, upcoming appointment.

8. Custody and Security of Funds

8.1 How Funds Are Held

Wallet funds are held by Stripe, Inc. in accordance with applicable laws and Stripe's terms of service. Wallet funds are segregated from Joyn's operating funds and are not commingled with Joyn's business accounts.

8.2 Security

Wallet transactions are protected by Stripe's security infrastructure, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Joyn implements additional security measures including encrypted data storage, access controls, and automated reconciliation.

8.3 No Guarantee

While we implement reasonable safeguards, Wallet balances are not guaranteed by Joyn, any bank, or any government agency. In the unlikely event that Stripe is unable to return funds, your recourse is with Stripe under their terms of service.

9. Transaction History and Records

9.1 Transaction Log

Every Wallet transaction is recorded, including deposits (one-time and auto-contribute), payments for booked services, refunds from cancelled bookings, and withdrawals. Each transaction record includes date and time, transaction type, amount, resulting balance, and related booking information (if applicable).

9.2 Export

You may export your full transaction history as a CSV file at any time through your Wallet dashboard. This export is designed to assist with personal budgeting, tax preparation, and HSA/FSA reimbursement documentation.

9.3 Year-End Summary

Joyn will provide an annual Wallet summary, available in January of each year, showing total funds added, total spent on healthcare, total withdrawn, and ending balance.

10. Inactive Accounts and Unclaimed Funds

If your Joyn account is inactive (no login, booking, or Wallet activity) for the period specified by applicable state unclaimed property law (typically 3-5 years), and we are unable to contact you, your Wallet balance may be reported and remitted to the applicable state as unclaimed property.

Before reporting funds as unclaimed, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you (via email and, if available, postal mail) to notify you.

11. Account Closure

If you close your Joyn account (or if your account is terminated), any remaining Wallet balance will be returned to you. Joyn will process a withdrawal within 30 days of account closure. If we are unable to process the withdrawal, we will hold the funds for 90 days and make reasonable efforts to contact you. After 90 days, unclaimed funds may be handled in accordance with applicable unclaimed property law.

12. Disputes and Errors

If you believe there is an error in your Wallet balance or transaction history, contact us at support@joynhealthcare.com within 60 days of the transaction in question. We will investigate and correct any verified errors within 10 business days. If the investigation requires additional time, we will provide a provisional credit while we complete the review.

13. Changes to Wallet Terms

We may modify these Wallet Terms by providing 30 days' notice via email. Your continued use of the Wallet after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the changes, you may withdraw your balance and stop using the Wallet before the effective date.

14. Governing Law

These Wallet Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
